erm, i have a question
for lighting, can you add like, idk, blue to the skin to make it look like
you're near the ocean or something?

You can add any color, in a subtle amount in the highlight areas.

Ya, but not all over the place or your skin tones won't look real. For showing atmosphere I usually add touches of the surrounding color to reflected highlight areas. For instance, if someone were sitting on a rock and surrounded by water then I'd recommend putting the ocean colors in the reflected highlight areas. But if you wanted to show sunlight/ moonlight/ or any light shining on the person then I'd add touches of those colors to the highlight and (very little) mid tone areas. See this tutorial for more on reflected highlights & shading [link] .

I hope this reply answers your question and helps you out. If you'd like a different explanation or have another quesiton just let me know.
